If These Walls Could Talk… Westminster Stories
"Westminster Stories" is a unique collection of facts, memories, and stories about two blocks in downtown Providence. The centerpiece of Westminster Stories is a diorama on public display at 191 Westminster Street. The project is the work of more than 30 photographers, artists, interviewers, and researchers who have captured stories in an effort to deepen the connections between the past and present, and between the people who use the street. Co-creators Andrew Losowsky and Lyra Monteiro will share some of the project’s stories and their experiences in making it a reality. George Lee Gaskell: Rhode Island Soldier and World Traveler
How did a native of Tiverton, RI travel the world, learn to speak four foreign languages fluently, fight in some of the Civil War's bloodiest battles and for the rights of freedmen, and travel westward? Come hear the interesting and strange life of George Lee Gaskell, a Rhode Islander who saw much and saw fit to write it down. This program is based on Robert Grandchamp's thesis in American History at Rhode Island College. Grandchamp is the author of several books and a former National Park Ranger.

A Walking Tour of Edward M. Bannister’s Providence
This tour, conducted by Ray Rickman, will visit the College Hill home and studio of Edward and Christiana Carteaux Bannister. The walk will also include five other sites associated with the noted African-American artist and a lively discussion of several other landmarks. A stop at the Providence Art Club to view one of Bannister's landscape paintings will conclude the tour. Tickets are $10 each, tour lasts about ninety minutes. Reservations are required.

Take a “behind the scenes” walk in Fox Point with Matt Bird, a Providence local with a personal passion for the neighborhood, and many years of accompanying his dog on long walks in the neighborhood. Bird’s shop, The Curatorium, on Wickenden Street, adds a new flavor to the area he has lived in for 25 years. Bird is a RISD graduate and was crucial in opening the risd works store.
