The FirstWorks Festival 2009 kicks off this evening at 6pm, with the Pixilerations gallery openings at 5 Traverse (just off Wickenden Street) and RISD’s Sol Koffler Gallery (169 Weybosset Street/Mason Building). (Wine at 5T, if you’re planning your evening happy hour!)

- Pauline Oliveros’ Deep Listening – performance Friday 10/2, 8pm; workshop Saturday 10/3, 1-5pm (space is limited!)
- Club Pixil – at Tazza, Friday 10/2, 10pm
- Dean & Britta (Dean Wareham of Luna fame … you may recall that one Luna album playing on my tape player over & over & over c. 1997), performing original commissioned songs to accompany Andy Warhol’s Screen Tests – Saturday, 10/3, 8pm.
