Exterior Art Based on Local African History, Bradenton, FL
Deadline:  February 28, 2013, postmark
Budget: $45,000/$4000
Southeastern artists
Bradenton Central Community Redevelopment Authority will commission exterior art for (1) the entrance to a grocery store to be built on a site of historic significance and (2) a free standing panel for a bus shelter on the site.    Imaginative approaches are sought to interpret the African American history of the site in a free standing form and materials that will be permanent in the Florida environment.  Eligible artists must have a body of relevant, professional work and an affinity for working with historical source material. Design honorarium for finalists.  Budget for entrance piece:  $45,000. Budget for shelter panel:  $4,000 design only.  Artists may apply for one or both.
