Job Description

Newport Art Museum seeks a dynamic Director of Marketing and Communications to oversee marketing strategies and tactical communications plans in the Museum's multiple centennial years. Reporting to the Executive Director, he/she creates and implements institutional strategic audience and community participation goals; delivers consistent, high quality messaging aligned to the institutional brand; recommends and implements annual marketing/communications plans and budgets across departments; gathers, analyzes and reports data; produces all Museum collateral including newsletters, annual reports, e-blasts, e-news, web information, publicity and media relations, monthly newspaper column; develops and manages corporate sponsorships; oversees all advertising and press releases, photograph files and Museum merchandise; coordinates all print and electronic production schedules.

Requirements: Undergraduate degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Journalism or equivalent and a minimum of 5 years experience in marketing and communications; proven effective writing for multiple audiences and purposes, including but not limited to reports, press releases, advertisements, print collateral, email marketing; demonstrated ability to set goals, manage multiple projects and achieve results in a fast-paced environment; excellent oral presentation and interpersonal skills; collaborative work-style; fluency with website management, Microsoft Office, Adobe InDesign, social media and email marketing systems, data management; experience with budget planning and implementation; experience in journalism and background in art history desirable.
