| 8 Southern New England Places will be our Learning Laboratories:
At Civic Tourism II, the places of Southern New England and the Blackstone Valley will be our learning laboratory for 3 1/2 days. Experience our distinct places as we walk through these cities and villages engaging residents, learning how place matters, and figuring out what we can do to keep our places whole and with soul. Participate in any one of our eight civic labs in places such as Mystic, CT or visit the Northern Rhode Island Tri-Communities: Central Falls, Cumberland and Pawtucket For a full listing of all the sites and to see what the learning experience will entail click here: Eight Sites. The protocol to guide the civic labs will be developed to use at each site with 3 parts:
-
Orientation: what to see and want to explore (either on the bus or at the local location) -
Walking and experiencing: what to look for -
Debrief lessons learned and what to share with whole conference on Saturday morning
