Gallery Exhibit: Happenstance: Women at Work
    From June 28 through September 7, the Museum of Work & Culture will be featuring an exhibit
     of candid art photographs entitled Happenstance: Women at Work by local artist Madeleine O.
Robinson, Ph.D. of Cumberland, RI. The photos are women at their worksites in our local area.
Madeleine has been an artist member of the Attleboro Arts Museum, Attleboro, MA since 1999 and has participated annually in many of their shows, especially the Member, Flower and Small Works events. Her photographs have been exhibited at River Bend Visitor Center in Uxbridge, MA; Ten Year Retrospective at the East Greenwich Photo Gallery, January 1998; Community College of Rhode Island in Lincoln, RI and at the Attleboro City Hall, Attleboro, MA.  In 1998 Madeleine Robinson participated in a cultural exchange with the Amber Valley, Derbyshire, England, sister site of the Blackstone Valley.  Her second ten year retrospective was held at the Museum of Work & Culture during the summer of 2007.

Gallery Night in the Light of Saturday: Wickenden Street
Join us on these walking tours offered by Gallery Night Providence and the Rhode Island Historical Society. Let the fun you had on Gallery Night continue during the weekend. On the Saturday after Gallery Night in May, June and July, walk with a tour guide who knows the neighborhood and an artist who knows the galleries and the art. Learn more about the Providence art scene, and after the tour, linger awhile. Explore the neighborhood; find a great cafe for coffee and conversation; stay for dinner. Maps and local information provided. Today’s tour begins at 1:00 p.m. from the John Brown House Museum, 52 Power Street. Tickets are $10/person. Reservations are requested.
